OK. The cheese of it is: I had an idea the other day. I'm very bored. I'm avoiding all sorts of school related crap. And I'l never learn to draw, so I might as well write 1000 good words for every good drawing I'll never draw. And I might as wel share it with my buddies at the Sonic DS board. I know it'll plummet as the competition is called Sonic: Death Syndrome and is written by the coolest guy on Earth, but still, I can try. This is the first CYOA I've ever written, so I might as well start and see what happens.
Chapter 1: Awakening
"Yosh..." Robotnik muttered to himself as he finished tinkering, and stepped away. "Let's see that little blue menace beat me now. Ha!" His finger shot down onto a classic red button. Cliche robot boot up sounds sounded themselves. The trademark red eyes lit up in the darkness. Metal Sonic stepped out of the darkness, reborn.
"What is thy bidding, my master?" It said, looking up at Robotniks gleaming face.
"You know what. You know very well. But this time, something's different. Oh yesh. See this, Metal Sonic?" The young robot looked up as Robotnik held out a small circuit board. "This is the backup of the most important part of you. Not your armoured body, not your artificial speed. Your brains. Your programming. This time you have brain power to match, say..." Robotniks hand waved as he thought of an appropriate comparison, "About half of me. An artificial IQ of 250." Robotnik smiled at the metre tall robot. The robot could not smile. It's old body was strong enough, it had not been replaced, there was no need. It scanned it's surroundings. Something similar to this had played out about 4 times before, and each being in the room remembered them. Robotnik hastily put the circuitry onto a shelf, which promptly folded into the wall, and became nothing but another place to lean.
"Master;" Metal Sonic queried, "Why do you do this? Why do you want to defeat my duplicate?" Robotnik stared in awe at his own brilliance. It was asking questions. It was seeking knowledge to broaden it's own. He couldn't stare at it forever, though.
"well, it's simple really. You want to be happy, don't you? You want me to be happy, don't you? Sonic and his friends are the only thing stopping us from reaching that. It is your purpose to end him." Pleased with that answer, Robotnik busied himself with tidying up. The robot stood still, his head pointing down slightly.
"Why do we remain in the ruins of the Egg Carrier?"
"It's safe. No one suspects us to be here. Why should they?" Robotnik pushed up a blind, revealing the glass behind. And behind that glass, was a sight few eyes managed to see. "Who is going to search for us when we're in a decrepit old aeroplane 3 miles under the sea? Ha. Hahaha." He went back to his business. After a short silence, the Doctor decided it was his turn to ask a question: "Metal, why did you betray me? Why did you feel the need to take over the Fleet and take the Hedgehog by yourself?" Robotniks stare pierced through his lens' straight into Metals eyes. The robots head jerked up, eyes met: 'Because I saw you as weak. It appears I was wrong. They are an elite group. Anyone going against them needs all the help they can get. correct, Master?" The robot kept looking at Robotnik, his eyes penetrating the Doctors. Robotnik looked through the window, thinking.
"Correct." Robotnik finished tidying up, and straightened up to his full height. "I'm afraid this meeting of sorts can't go on any longer. YOu already know, but it is late. And I am only human. I need sleep. You are free to roam the Carrier. Do not be afraid to go out, you can easily take care of any fish that takes too much curiosity in you. Good night, Metal Sonic." He walked out.
"Good night, Master..." Metal Sonic said as the door closed behind Robotnik. He looked around.
A) He remains in the room until Robotnik returns
B) He wanders the inside of the Egg carrier
C) He explores the surrounding ocean
OK, hope that's good enough for a first installment. Bed now.
Votes: C,C,B,C,B,B,C
Looks like you've chosen C. Where he explores the sea. C. Sea. C. OK, I'll get on with the story now.
Metal looked out of the window. It was good to be back. He knew this. He walked closer to the window, put his sharp fingers on the glass.
"Three miles of ocean." He repeated to himself. He ran out of the room. He ran through the familiar corridors, all rusting, or crumbling in the pressure of the water above. He found his way to the nearest exit, and entered the bodged air lock Robotnik had made in haste a few months before. And he entered the water.
His yellow body twisted in the simple underwater modification. He sped through the water like an intelligent torpedo.
"Life signs? Here? These are too faint to be fish..." He looked up, and stopped the engine. Water resistance quickly slowed him to a stop. He remained looking up. And up he sped. About a mile up, he stopped again.
"Master Robotnik would not be pleased if his cover was blown..." he looked around, "But what master does not know surely can not harm him." He rised a few feet. "But Master does not know the location or status of Sonic the Hedgehog... this knowledge could surely have a negative effect..." He sank down again. He hovered in the water, thinking. "Birds," he said as he looked up, "it is probable that these life signs are birds," he said as he sank back, and flew underwater back to the Egg Carrier.
"Good morning, my most beautiful creation." Robotnik beamed as he walked through the underwater fortress. "Been for a little swim?"
"Yes, Master. I brought you a fish back. To make you happy." Robotniks head slowly turned to the robot. "Sonic did not get in the way," It's head jerked up, "Why is this?"
Robotnik stood transfixed. "..what?"
"Are you not pleased, Master?"
Robotnik stood in awe. "Err, yes, very good Metal. Bring the fish in."
Metal Sonic stood, expecting an answer.
"That is a command."
"Yes, Master." answered Metal, and left the room. He came back half a minute later.
"Where is the supposed fish?" His master asked it, in a less than friendly voice. The door behind flung open, a shark fell out, into the room, mouth gagged open.
"I managed to kill it causing minimal external damage. It was not much of a fight." Metal walked closer to Robotnik. "Why is this?"
"What?! Get this monstrosity out of my sight! NOW!" Robotniks fist slammed on the nearest table like object. "Stupid robot!" He shouted angrily as he left the room. Metal stood there.
"My mistake."
From the window, Robotnik saw the shark spin, and speed off as Metal let go.
"Why is he like this? What has happened?" he sighed, "Best not to make a mistake..."
A) Robotnik goes and apologizes to Metal as soon as he re enters the Egg Carrier
B) Robotnik goes and informs Metal of the latest mad capped scheme as soon as he next finds him
C) Robotnik ignores Metal until the correct oppurtunity arises
D) Robotnik rewires Metal as soon as possible

That's a pretty clear A followed by B decision. Unless 7 people vote otherwise while I type this. Oh well. A followed by B, poifect...
Metal walked through the air lock, water dripping off of him. He was looking to the ground as he walked.
"I, ee, er.. ah, um, hmm.. Sorry, Metal Sonic. Just a misunderstanding, that is all." Robotnik's face was a distorted vision of forced forgiveness.
"I am the sorry one, Master. It is my fault for being so stupid. It will not occur again." His head raised slowly, into he normal, straight ahead position.
"Good. That is what makes a good robot. Mistakes are okay, but apologizing for them afterwards is almost remarkable... in fact..." Robotnik promptly wrote something down hastily. Metal Sonic watched intently. "Yes. Anyway, I have something to show you. Follow me. Mwaha," Robotnik remarked as he strode out of the room.
"These," Dr Robotnik said as pointing to some blueprints, "are, as you know, the plans of the Egg Carrier. The prototype of the Egg Fleet. As you know well, it turned out to be quite a bit stronger than a lot of the similar sized Fleet ships, so, as I'm sure could be obvious by now, my latest plan is to resurrect it. This," his foot tapped the floor, "is going to defeat Sonic and his little group. What's so different about it this time, I hear you ask?" Robotnik smiled at the robot.
"What is so different about it this time?" Metal replied on cue.
"I love that program..." said the Doctor half to himself, "Anyway, what's so different this time is the timing. Oh, and the lack of Chaos. The little... watery... little..." Robotnik punched his hand a few times, before slouching back. "Timing. This time, they're all crying over the few dead from Fleet shrapnel. It's their fault. You can't knock several hundred airships out of the sky without someone getting hurt. You'd think the fox atleast would figure it out." Robotnik gazed into Metal Sonic's blank stare. Metal's head tilted up slowly until it met Robotnik's eyes.
"Probability of being hit would have been approximately 1337/4319." stated Metal.
"...I have improved the Egg Carrier in a number of ways since it last took to the skies. Firstly, like you, it is adapted for underwater travel. Why this is so monumental will become clear in a few moments. Secondly, it's armour has been significantly improved. It takes more than what was the Egg Carrier to put up with so much water pressure. This has many more useful effects too. Lets see the Tornado scratch this thing. Mwa! Ha! But don't get too excited yet. My adventures on the ARK didn't go without failure. The main cannon of this ship has been significantly improved. It is, in proportion, a miniature eclipse cannon. Doubled with the underwater capabilities, we could effectively shoot the foundations of islands and well... yes... and it would make dust of Angel Island. Before this regime of power the world will cower! The Eggman Empire is no more! The Reign of Robotnik has begun! HA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHA, hehehehehhehehheh, hoohoooo, yesh."
Robotnik stared at the robots blank face. It's head had moved down again while he had been talking. It felt it's master looking at him, and swiftly moved it's head up to fix this.
"What is my role in all of this?" it asked. Robotnik crouched down onto one knee, so his head was level.
"The last thing missing from the last Egg Carrier was a proper Plan B. Gamma went insane, destroying several other elite robots and in the end even killing himself. A shame, but I do not wish to repeat such a failure. I would have used you, of course, but you were still being built at the Base... Omega is still running around somewhere, after returning you... it is a mystery. But that is for another time. Here is your role in this; as soon as the Egg Carrier resurfaces," Robotnik pulled out a one-button remote control, and pressed the button. The screen at the front began a 15 second countdown."You will fly off, and cause a diturbance. If you can assassinate Sonic and his team, so be it. If not, the plan will take full effect." The countdown reached 11. "There is one thing though." 9 "A miniature eclipse cannon," 7 "like the full sized thing," 5 "needs all seven chaos emeralds to power it." Robotniks voice sped up desperately. "I have one already. Sonic and his team don't know this. As long as this remains so,objective will become much easier." 0 "Now go."
A) Metal Sonic heads straight out, as instructed, and heads straight for Station Square
B) A, but he heads for Angel Island instead
C) A, but heads to somewhere of your choice
D) He stays to explore the Egg Carrier one last time before heading out on his expedition
This one seems OK, you picked an option I knew how to do this time. :) It's amazing seeing the feedback, especially when a lot of it is positive...

Well, my cousin's getting better, as previously said. I'm gonna attempt to write this tonight and get it posted. You have chosen D; I've been trying to get you to choose this one for a while, but I forgot why. Ah well.
Metal Sonic ran through the corridors of the Egg Carrier. It shook as it left the water, countless tons of aquatic life and living space falling off as it rose. A distant roar of the engines was drowned out by the evaporating water hissing beneath them. The Egg Carrier had grown considerably in size; the thick new armour had been laid on top of countless new rooms and corridors, leaving the Egg Carrier about 50% bigger than it previously was. This was only just starting to show on the outside, however. Any innocent seagull watching would have seen the Egg Carrier inflate like a giant, misshapen metal balloon as Robotnik pressed a button and repressurised the ship. Metal Sonic noticed from the inside too; the cramped, folded-in ruins became neat, square corridors of considerable size. Metal Sonic also noticed something much more mysterious though.
He stopped in his run. He looked back, and paused as he mentally retraced his steps. While comparing his knowledge to the blueprints of the Carrier he logged earlier, he walked back the way he had came. He reached his right hand out, and touched the wall there.
"There is..." he looked at the wall, "a room, blocked off here." His head moved up, examining the wall. "Why would Master do this?" he asked himself as he started running back, keeping his position and the location of the wall in his constantly updating data. After circling the Egg Carrier a few times, avoiding the Doctor, he came to a conclusion he told himself by default: "There is definitely a room here. There is definitely an entrance to this room missing." He walked towards the wall as he said this. He pulled his arm back, and looked at it hesitantly. Then, following his razor sharp fingers with his gaze, his arm shot forward, and his fingers sliding easily through the metal. He brought his hand down, creating four slits down the wall. Then, inserting his left hand into the left-middle slit, his right into the right-middle, he braced himself, and pulled them apart.
Being assisted by the repressurisation, dissecting the wall had been easy. The room was dark, Metal automatically switched to infra red vision as he entered. The red heat-seeking view told him nothing, so changing to the grey scale view he moved his body back, in a sort of artificial shock.
"Silver..."
"...Sonic"
It's head lifted up, it's eyes glowed orange, and it looked straight at Metal. It seemed strange though; Metal was convinced it was looking through him, not at him.
"Your prototype."
Metal turned around, to find Robotnik speaking for Silver. He turned back to his prototype.
It walked around Metal, it clearly being able to see in the dark too. As it did this, the next stage in the Egg Carriers resurrection took place, automatically: the pressurising nearly finished, even more armour unfolded around the ship, blue in colour, making the ship grow insignificantly in size, but still having an effect. Some parts, such as the walkable top of the Carrier, were unaffected.
"He failed almost as graciously as you did. But nevertheless I kept his remains and fixed him in the Mystic Ruins base. He still wasn't very good; he's too stupid."
Silver remained focused on Metal, walking around, examining his superior. After it had gone around 360 degrees, it stopped.
"Very stupid, in fact," The Doctor smiled behind Metal, "I doubt he can tell the difference between you and the real Sonic."
Silvers head began to churn, and after a short series of clunks, it's spikes began to move, pouring down his head in an endless cycle.
"As a punishment to your unneeded curiosity, take care of this. It should be only a chore, but you never know, I have been surprised by 'inferior robots' before. Ha. Mwah. Hamwah!" He laughed to himself as he walked out, into the light.
Metal sonic listened to his footsteps disappear, and then turned to face his voiceless new rival.
A) Fight him as instructed, and win
B) Fight him, but lose
C) Run and carry on with previous instructions
Ah, good good. Felt good to type that. Hope the new Egg Carrier is clear in all your heads. Etc.
Votes: A,A,A,A,A,A,A
Unanimous A'd! And now, my heavily Adventure influenced mind will scare you all!
Metal heard the air being sliced as Silvers spikes sped up, forever rolling down it's head. Metals head tilted down.
"Forever fighting. What is the point of existence?"
He raised his head again.
"To win?"
Silver sped at him, sparks flying off it's feet. Metal stepped out of the way, casually. The technology in his eye forced him to see everything slowed down. He'd never survive Stardust Speedway otherwise.
Metal watched as Silver spun around, getting ready to take another charge. He zoomed forward, but this time Metal didn't have to move, excluding his neck. Silver jumped over him. Metal did as far an equivalent to a sigh as he could.
"This... my Masters first attempt at mimicking Sonic the Hedgehog..." he stepped out of the way, letting Silver zoom past. "It's... going to be very easy killing you," he said, without looking at Silver.
Metal turned to the other robot, who leant forward expectantly. It zoomed forward. Metal did not move. He slid his right hand slightly forward, fingers pointing toward Silver. It went right into them, making a dead stop as it's body curled around Metal. Curling his hand round, Metal thrust up, Silver lifting off and making it's way into the air. Blue fire shot out of Metals back, he crouched, and zoomed up. He hit the apexing Silver at tremendous speed, forcing them both up, through the ceiling, through countless rooms of the Carrier, and eventually into the thin, shining air. Metal stopped dead, sending Silver flying into the air once more. At this moment, Metal decided to land on the Carrier, next to the freshly made hole. He watched Silvers pathetic body fall. He watched Silvers pathetic body land.
The battered robot returned to it's feet. It's spikes were still spinning, though considerably slower. Metal Sonic walked over to it, and took hold of it's arm. Silver looked down, confused. Fire shot out of Metals back again, and he took off.
Flying around the Egg Carrier with Silver Sonic limp in his hand, Metal wove around the superficial defences. Although a considerable amount of extra guns had been mounted on the exterior of the blue new armour, Metal easily evaded each shot fired. Silver, however, was in the firing line of each one. Metal made sure of it. After circling the Carrier once, Metal flew off, with the punctured Silver, into the sky. Miles of ocean could be seen through all 360 degrees, and in the middle of it all, Metal started to hover, still. He was about 2 miles away from the Carrier now, and that distance was ever increasing. He looked down at Silver. Bullet holes were everywhere in it's simple frame, one of it's legs dangling, only a wire keeping it from dropping into the ocean. Silver looked back up at Metal, almost desperate.
"You are worthless." Metal told it, and began to spin in the air. It was similar to what he'd done with the shark, but less water resistance, and his back left a trail of fire around him (which he made sure Silver got in the way of). After rising a few feet from the pure speed of the spinning, Silver shot off in the direction of the Egg Carrier, hitting the ocean a few hundred yards away, bounced off the waters surface, and eventually came to rest, falling to pieces from the force of that water. A fountain of electricity killed several surrounding fish. Metals spinning came to a halt, and he examined what was left of Silver. Metal hadn't let go; Silvers torso had ripped off his arm. Metal let it drop. The arm was suspended in freefall for about half a minute before hitting the water.
"Easy," he said, contented with himself, "I am glad I do not remain so simple in design." He turned around to the Egg Carrier, and then turned back. "Must discover location." He hovered for a few moments, before stopping his propulsion, and dropping to a few feet over the ocean. The fire promptly resumed. Water under him boiled. "Location unknown."
He had been flying for a few minutes before he saw land. He had worked up to mach 1, but that was nothing to him. Speed was merely a detail now. The water behind him shot up as he flew past. "This city... Station Square. How appropriate."
He came to a stop at the beach. Here, he decided to contemplate his next move.
A) Explore Station Square
B) Try to locate Angel Island
C) Look elsewhere
And may I say, I look forward to the new LoZ very much and Star Wars ep 3 looks very very good.
Votes: A,A,A,B,B,A
Okay, I'll update when I say for once since I have so much spare time. That's an explore Station Square then. Lovely.
Metal sonic walked up the sand, and onto the pavement (English for sidewalk lolololololololz), where he stood, and worked out what he would do.
"It's sunset now," he said, talking to himself again, "and location of Hedgehogs et cetera remains unknown."
He looked around.
"Searching for signs of genetic code..." he stood still for a few moments, "Google Robotnik has returned 5 results. Two hedgehogs, one of either gender, one fox, one chameleon, and one armadillo. Within a 2 mile radius. They are within Station Square."
He flexed his fingers, unneededly loosening the joints.
"Perfect."
Robotnik sat in the cockpit of the Egg Carrier. He looked around him, and flicked a few switches. He tapped his fingers on the control panel. He sighed. He stood up, and walked over to the big button on the floor. He stamped on it three times. The Egg Carrier shook. He nodded. He sat back down. He sighed. He pushed and held a green button on the control panel.
"Metal Sonic? Can you hear me?"
Metal zoomed down the streets of Station Square.
"Yes Master, interference is minimal."
"Perfect," Robotniks voice came from within him, "What is your progress?"
"I appear to have located Sonic the Hedgehog and several of his team mates, in the vicinity of Station Square. I am finding their exact locatio-" he flew straight through a lorry (English for truck lololololololololololz!) with little resistance, and looked back to check any damage. It had jack knifed and fallen to the side. "I am finding their exact location now."
"Ah, good."
"How is your progress, Master?"
Robotnik looked dumbfounded at the speakers. I'm a genius, he thought. It wants to know my progress so it can aspire to meet it. I love me.
"I am approaching Station Square myself, as it happens. Dramatic entrance, and all that. Taking the long route round, though. ETA of about 6 hours. Night time. Going to be quite good. You'll see."
"I will. I am approaching Sonic and company now. Do you wish me to dispose of them?"
Robotnik looked out of the window. The Egg Carrier had always needed windows. He was glad he'd put them in. The sky was beautiful, and needed a good blowing up some time soon.
"If the oppurtunity arises. But do not underestimate them."
Metal stood looking up at a moderately sized sky scraper.
"I won't."
Blue fire shot out of his back once more, but this time he rose slowly, with purpose, calculating what could happen and what he would do for each possibility. He had a range of new combat tools at his disposal; he was exploring which would be best. After flying past the 5th floor, he decided. The third finger of his right hand folded back, and was replaced by a small metal tube, 2.54 centimetres in diameter (English for an inch lolol etcz). He rose up. He stopped, and hovered, the top of his face just over the bottom of a window. He was quite high up now, about the height any suicide seeking psychopath would get away with. He looked inside.
Sure enough, the blue blur was there. He was in some sort of kitchen, chopping things up with high speed and accuracy, while talking to a pink hedgehog in a red dress. She was slowly but steadily moving closer to Sonic, but he didn't notice and continued to chop things up, his hands a blur. Past the kitchen, Metal could see a blue chameleon showing off infront of a red and black armadillo and an orange fox, with two tails. The chameleon promptly turned purple as Sonic walked into the room, Amy following him with a tray of food. Sonic jumped onto a sofa, next to Tails, who promptly started talking excitedly. Amy sat down sheepishly next to Sonic, and tried to rest her head on his arm. Sonic noticed this, and pushed her off affectionatly. Metal Sonic watched in awe. He turned the volume and detail up on his microphones...
"This crap ain't bad!" Mighty said, his mouth full, "How'd you get it so fresh?"
"Well," Amy answered, "We only took it out of the fridge half a minute ago..." she looked longingly at Sonic. He returned the gaze for a split second before promptly looking in front of him, Amy doing the same. Metal Sonic noticed both of their heart rates increase for a short while afterwards. He did not understand why.
"It is quite delicious," Espio replied, licking something off of his glove, "You'll have to share recipe some time. But seriously now," he said, punching Mighty for the hell of it, "Why are we here?"
"Yeah Sawnic!" Tails blasted, "Um, why are we here? Why Amy's flat, anyway?"
"Oh, it's nothing really, I just haven't seen you guys in a while."
"But you see me and Amy all the time!" Tails argued, "Why u-"
"You two are generally fun to be around, that's all." Amy smiled to herself maniacally on cue, then went back to normal, "Neither of you two have seen Espio or Mighty in a while either, so I thought, hey, why not." He finished picking up some random piece of salad.
"I see..." said Espio, looking around, "Is it just me, or does anyone else get the feeling they're... being..." he flicked his hand, and three knives came out from between his fingers, and stayed there, ready, "watched...?"
Metal shot down a few floors in a split second. He looked up, focusing his microphones on the flat. There was nothing, silence. He waited, looking up. He heard footsteps. He pointed his hand up, ready. Closer, closer. They were next to the window now. They stopped. He heard the window slide open. Nothing happened. He heard a slight shuffling.
"Hey, guys..."
Mighty stuck his head out of the window, looking straight down at Metal. Metals finger exploded, a bullet firing out at high velocity, straight upwards. The deafening bang travelled faster though. Metals bullet time programming saw the bullet go up, slowly. It heard the low sound of a girl screaming. It saw Mighty's face distort slowly into shock. Zoom back to our eyesight, and Mighty's head gets thrown back, a shower of blood shooting from the top, his body flopping back down, over and out the window, falling, straight past the hovering robot. Metal held his smoking finger up. He listened to the girl cry. He listened to the small fox shiver.
"Amy, Tails... let's get you two to safety..." Metal heard the shakey voice of the male hedgehog say, the footsteps as he guided them to the middle of the building. He heard the girl burst into more tears before Sonic shut the door behind him.
"Oh... kay..." Sonics voice tremored, "Let's, um, don't act too rash now, Espi-!"
Metal stopped listening here. He had suddenly gathered a lot of extra weight, something was crawling all over him. He deduced that it was about a meter (3.2808 feet) long. His head moved around frantically as he increased propulsion to cope with the sudden increase, but he couldn't locate whatever was weighing him down. He switched to infra red, heat seeking vision. It was right in front of him. The chameleon thrust his tense arm forward, and Metal felt the knife puncture the small seem in his armour where eye connected to head.
"You bastard!!" The glowing chameleon screamed, "You ****ing bastard!!" Another knife sunk it's way into Metal's weak spot. He had had enough. His finger folded back into the razor sharp blade it had been before. He thrust his hand forward, grabbing at the chameleon, but before it reached, Espio was pulled away. He watched the Hedgehog kick off his metal body as he jumped back to the window, Espio in his arm. He saw them look at each other before rushing inside.
Metal looked down, at the crowd gathering beneath and the river of blood flowing onto the road.
A) Infiltrate the building, follow Sonic and Espio
B) Infiltrate the building, looking for Tails and Amy
C) Go down and make sure Mighty is dead
D) Return to the Egg Carrier
That was weird. I had the idea of Mighty being in for the purpose of being killed, but typing that made me feel sick at how heartless Metal was, and the effect it had on his friends... being spooked by my own story, heh. I liked that entry. Really did. Let the votes role in.

Thank the metaphorical carnation of God that it's A. I was a bit stuck after 3 sentences if it was others. I love you SDSB.
Metal looked back at the window. The ambulances and police were coming now. Metal felt a strange urge, some wave in his programming. He wanted to commend himself for how well he'd done it. He wanted to laugh. He pushed it aside. Corrupt data was not needed as of now. Slowly and steadily, he flew to the window.
He hovered just outside, before flying in and landing. He picked up life signs, but he felt it unwise to check for their exact locations in case they attacked. He looked around, his infra red vision easily picking up the two attackers. They were waiting in ambush. Silently and swiftly, he removed the knives from his head.
"Stupid chameleon," he said, and immediately, Espio became visible to the human eye. He flicked shuriken into his hand. He looked at Metal, like an assassin picking his next target. The knives shuffled in Metals hand. They stared at each other.
"Stupid robot," Espio said, his body twisted, and the first three shuriken left his hand.
Before they were half way, one of the knives had been thrown, and Metal stood as two of the shuriken bounced off him, the third having bounced off the knife. Espio stood as the knife stuck into the wall next to his head.
"This does not compute. Chameleons can not move that fast. Only known being with that speed is-"
"Sonic the hedgehog!" Sonic jumped out of his hiding place, (he had moved Espio from the knives flight path before) and flew at Metal Sonic. Metal moved out of the way, and Sonic stood where his metallic counterpart had previously.
"Metal Sonic. Remember what happened last time we met? I do..." he thought of Mighty, "bastard."
They stood still, Espio's body tense, ready to uncoil. Sonic's casual, waiting to react. Metal Sonic just stood, as he always did, head facing forward, hands by his sides.
"It's a nice flat," Metal looked at Sonic, "You like it's owner, don't you? You have feelings for her..."
Sonic shuffled uneasily, and took a quick glance at Espio, who hadn't moved, eyes fixed on Metal. Metal turned to him instead.
"Your friend... he did not resist at all," Espio breathed heavily, "Why is this?"
"You..." Rage built up inside the chameleon. Words were not enough. He plucked the knife from the wall, and through it with great accuracy towards Metal. Metals hand moved up, body moving down, knife hitting his hand, handle first, bouncing straight in the direction of the organic hedgehog. Sonic easily did a backflip, dodging the knife (which flew unguided through the window), and shot straight at Metal as soon as his feet touched the ground. The robot couldn't move fast enough, Sonic hit him with force. They rolled back, Sonic pounding Metal with whatever he could, all at supersonic speed. Dents were becoming visible in his armour.
"This will not suffice," Metal said, changing his sight back to the visible spectrum, "You will not live after this day." His back to the ground, he started his propulsion. The fire burst out as always, sending Metal and Sonic flying upwards, in a small arc across the flat, and into the kitchen. Metal crushed Sonic against the wall with his body. Fire poured out, but neither hedgehog moved. Metal pulled back the razor sharp hand. Just as he sent it forward, Sonic kicked him off. Metal flew across the flat once more, and Espio was there to great him. Kicking off the wall, Espio pulled a samurai sword out of seemingly nothing, and spinning as he flipped over Metal, he brought it out in force. Sparks came off, anyone watching would have seen a blur of Metal defending, and the shine as the sword hit and ricocheted, to be brought back down onto the armoured body. Within this blur, Metal pulled out his next knife.
Espio backed away, blood pouring out of his arm. He pulled the knife out, and concealed it somewhere. He brought the sword up.
"Mighty's death will not go unnoticed," He looked back at Sonic, "Go, clear this building, make sure the people are safe." He looked back to Metal. "I will avenge Mighty." His body curved into a stance. The sword hummed as air moved across it slowly. Blood continued to pour.
"Espio, no, I can't leave you to die..."
"Think about it. It's either me or me, you, and everyone else," He looked back, "Go." His gaze returned to Metal.
Sonic sighed.
"You... this isn't the last of me," He looked sadly at the chameleon, "Goodbye, Espio."
Espio nodded.
"Goodbye... Sonic the Hedgehog."
The Hedgehog disappeared from the room in a blur.
"Nice of you to wait for us." Espio said, focusing on the robot.
"It is merely polite."
"It will be the last act of politeness you ever commit."
End of Chapter 1
A) Follow Espio
B) Follow Sonic
C) Follow Robotnik
D) Follow Amy/Tails
E) Follow Knuckles
Okay. I don't think this is my best entry, not very good at action scenes, but there will be better and worse. That's right, end of chapter 1. It'd be artistic if we left Espio there (what'll happen is predictable), but it is a CYOA. So get choosing the adventure already.
