In this section, I will be talking about two things. Chao Personality and Chao Behavior.

Chao Personality

Here is a list of the personalities

Short-Tempered - This chao gets angry very quickly and does not make friends easily with other chao nor does it mate easily with other chao. This chao has an intelligence set to 10 and the intelligence CAN'T be raised, but the Luck raises at double the speed a normal chao's luck raises.
Cry-Baby - A chao with this personality is... an annoyance at best... Anyway, it has an intelligence of 5 and a luck of 5 both of which CAN'T be raised. In addition to that, it cries when mistreated, when ignored, sometimes it just cries because it wants to. These chao are gotten by SPOILING YOUR CHAO.
Naive - Probably one of the best personalities. Intelligence and luck grow at twice a normal chao's speed, it makes friends very easily, and will mate with basically any chao. The only thing that is a problem is probably that it sometimes cries when its alone in the garden.
Picky Eater - This chao won't eat a lot and as the name implies, is picky about their food. A chao with this personality will have their luck at 5 and won't increase.
Curious - This chao likes to learn, therefore, a chao with this personality has their intelligence growing at twice the normal speed but also has their luck set to 5 and their luck can't be increased. This chao also makes friends easily and will mate with anyone.
Energetic - This chao plays with toys a lot but does not make friends easily nor does it mate easily. It also gets mad very easily.
Big Eater - A chao with this personality likes to eat a lot, gets hungry easily, and stays happy easily.
Carefree - A chao with this personality likes to play a lot but they aren't very smart, therefore their intelligence stops at 5.
No Personality - A chao with this personality has a personality basically as the name implies. It has no personality. Its just a chao with no personality. Nothing Special.

Personality Changing

Cry-Baby to Short-Tempered

This method to get a Cry-Baby to change isn't necessarily an effective method as the chao is likely to die from this method and it would be a miracle if it survived. You beat and neglect and treat it as bad as possible for THREE whole chao years. Beat it and neglect it and spoil another chao in front of it. Eventually the beat on chao will attack the spoiled chao and its personality has been changed! (assuming of course that the chao isn't dead).

Naive to Curious and vice versa

These personalities will just randomly switch and thats all there is to it.

Short-Tempered to Cry-Baby

Basically, if you neglect this chao, it is very likely to become a Cry-Baby. So make sure to pay attention to this chao.

Big Eater to Picky Eater and vice versa

Basically, if you give a big eater a bunch of fruits and a lot of fruits, it will probably become a picky eater. And if you give a picky eater one fruit and don't give them that much food, it is likely that it will become a big eater.

Energetic to Short-Tempered and vice versa

Basically, they randomly switch back and forth between these 2 personalities.

Carefree to No Personality and No Personality to any other personality

It will sometimes just do that. And No Personality will shift to any other personality except for shifting to Short-Tempered, Energetic, and Naive which will be shifted to rarely.

Cry-Baby to Something else!

This method is EXTREMELY HARD but it will get your chao to no longer be a cry-baby with little or no abuse. Just take the cry-baby away from other chao; stop feeding him, pet him when he feeds himself; ignore him if he cries; only give him his favorite food or power drives when he does something good; never pick him up except if he feeds himself; never feed him; never pet him unless he feeds himself; after the personality has changed, wait a little until taking him back to the other chao and be careful because the chao can easily become a cry-baby again.

Chao Behavior

A list of some behavior types

Spoiled - This behavior type is when somebody pets a chao too much for no reason. This chao is very lazy and cries a lot. The upside is that they are very likely to reincarnate and will live a long life.
Bully - This chao is an energetic or short-tempered chao that attacks other chao and sometimes even your character. It will also steal food. This chao is gotten by beating and neglecting the chao itself and spoiling others in front of it. This chao WILL NOT reincarnate.
Loyal - Respects and kinda likes your character but really doesn't do anything. This chao won't reincarnate.
Love - This chao LOVES your character and is not spoiled and knows that you are the master. This chao will definitely reincarnate.
Hate - Plain and simple, this chao hates you. It can be saved from dying by being loving your character.

General Behavior

If your character can see your chao and the chao knows it:

Will skip to character if it loves you or is spoiled and will continue until petted or picked up.
If a hero, the chao will bow to you. If dark or neutral, it will smile at you and give you a thumbs-up.
If the chao is pouting and you are standing in front of it, it will pout again or run away screaming. (caused by ABUSE)
Chao will tantrum wether or not you can see them but is slightly more likely to if you can see them.

If your character can't see the chao and the chao knows it:

If a bully chao, will steal fruit from other chao.
Chao that are starving are more likely to get food on their own when you're not looking at them.
Chao will do things they learned at kindergarden more often when you aren't looking at them.

Other Random Behaviors

Power Chao that are REALLY, REALLY hungry will actually shake a tree to get a fruit to drop down.
Everytime you pick up a chao when its sleeping, it will fall asleep a different way than how it was sleeping before you picked them up.
Chao that have won the watering can will sometimes go to a tree and water it.
