Sonic X

It was too hard to believe, a real Sonic Anime Series. Not one that followed the OVA that appeared in Japan back in 1996 (1999 in US) but one that closely followed the Sonic Adventure Games; Sonic X. It was shown during the Osaka World Hobby Fair in 2003 in which showed a small trailer of the series and a small bit of info was told about what it was... the orginal plot that was known about the show at the time;

Chris saves Sonic from drowning in a pool because Sonic unwillingly free fell into it because of Eggman. Apperently, Sonic & Co. come from another world to Chris' world by some accident by Eggman.

Then the show appeared on TV in Japan on TV Tokyo on April 06, 2003, which showed the first episode, Enter the Supersonic Hedgehog! Fans were finally happy that a true Sonic the Hedgehog TV Show had finally appeared. Fans of the series started to fan sub the first episode, those who were Sonic fans, who lived in English speaking countrys and knew both Japanese and English. It was a huge hit to all Sonic Fans

More episodes came out in Japan and even DVD's and CD's... but it would be almost 5 months since the first episode was shown in Japan before the series was shown on US TV's. What made more fans happy was the game storylines from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 were brought into the Anime.

A huge cast of characters made there animated debut in the series, just to name a few were Amy Rose, Cream & Cheese, Big the Cat, and Rogue the Bat. New Characters also hit the TV Screen, a few were Chris, a boy who saved Sonic from Drowning in his swimming pool, and his grandfather, Chuck, who is the first one that Chris told about Sonic, and who later on helps Tails with his machines.

Sonic X Finally finished it's run with episode 52 in Japan on March 28, 2004... almost a full year since the series was first shown. In europe the series has ended too... however, In the US, we are only up to around the 40 episodes.
